Bridal shopping for most brides can be an emotional time of fear and trepidation. We anticipate a time of excitement and frivolity but the reality is, bridal shopping in the UK is a really antiquated practise and can be really challenging, particularly for plus size brides. Sample sizes are normally ordered in a very select few sizes and even when bridal shops offer plus size wedding dresses, the sample sizes all seem to be around a size UK20. This is not representative of the UK plus size market and the result is, an entire demographic of brides remaining unserved in a country that promotes self-love and being individual! The most important thing to remember is that you are worthy, you are strong and you deserve the same treatment as any bride at any time.

I wanted to share some of our REAL plus size brides ranging from a size UK20 to a size UK30 because I think it’s so important to be able to see the finished result and just how confident, beautiful and full of love and happiness our brides are on their wedding days! A plus size wedding dress on a model who’s a size 14 standing in a studio, doesn’t really give the full picture and we are ALL about serving every plus size bride and all of those beautiful curves!
Our plus size bridal shop near London is based in Surrey, just on the border of West Sussex. We are centrally located and in our short time since launching have received the most incredible feedback (checkout Google reviews) and have been rated by Hitched.co.uk as the best plus size bridal shop in the UK! We are totally different and have created a haven in the Surrey Hills. An enchanted woodland style boutique complete with a maze of dresses and a total floral fairytale vibe! Bea
If you’re looking for a plus size black wedding dress, then we have THE ONE! Our absolutely incredible black wedding dress with a nude underskirt was Bea’s perfect dress and it went down an absolute storm! Everything about Bea’s wedding was so beautiful and homemade and to INCREDIBLE effect! They created an English/French fusion style celebration in a marquee. Guests brought trays of coq au vin and everyone tucked in family style! Her bouquet was created by her mum, Bea and her new husband (a fantastic duo) provided some of the entertainment and everyone chipped in to create this absolutely awesome celebration! Bea chose dream dress Tamia with her fabulous oversized balloon sleeves in black tulle. She then accessorised with our statement pearl headband and took everyone’s breath away when she entered their church. Tamia incidentally, can come in a variety of different colours from blue, purple, pink, red, green to grey, yellow, aquamarine and champagne! As well as of coure classic ivory!

Lauren
Lauren LOVES a little bit of sparkle. She celebrated her wedding in April 2023 at the absolutely incredible wedding venue Preston Court, which comes complete with it’s own carousel! Amazing! Every detail of Lauren’s wedding was just amazing, from the styling to the entertainment to her incredible look! For Lauren’s custom plus size wedding dress, we took our glitter wedding dress Saar by Studio Levana and added a custom balloon style sleeve with elasticated wrist band for comfort. These were actually made detachable, giving Lauren the option to pop them off during the evening at a moment’s notice! The heavy glitter fabric was such a fabulous choice for her outdoor wedding ceremony, allowing the sun to catch those sparkles. Then when the sun went down, the lights of the carousel and festoon lighting took over and her dress just glistened and danced under the moonlight! GEMMA
Gemma is a bride with a real sense of fashion. She knew what she wanted and was not prepared to compromise on style. When she first came to visit our boutique, she knew what she was looking for and wanted to show off her feminine curves in a soft and delicate dress. She ended up falling in love with dream dress FOREST; a fitted of nude skirt beneath a glitter tuille overskirt. The floral lace on this gown is enchanting and an illusion neckline allows for structure across the bust and for an organic placement of the lace. Gemma wanted to add some delicate and complimentary sleeves to her gown so we simply ordered additional fabric and our incredible seamstress built them from scratch and attached them to her dress. We’re so proud to be able to offer customisations to our wedding dresses, allowing our brides to tailor them to suit their style. Gemma complimented her stunning dress with our floral lace veil in a soft shade of blush with sparkles that caught the light. She chose an updo for the day to really highlight the elegant sleeves and her statement floral earrings!

BECKY
Beautiful Becky was really a dream come true. Tall, curvaceous, beautiful and full of personality and sass! Becky was on the hunt for something different, romantic, whimsical and not your everyday dress. I’m so grateful that she was recommended to us by one of our mutual friends as she found the most glorious and sumptuous blue and pink tuille wedding dress. As we are known to do, we customised Becky’s incredible dress by adding sleeves for her February wedding at Caswell House. Becky chose a low and soft updo style for her hair and warm pinks for her bridal makeup. Instead of a bouquet her bridesmaids held flower hoops and wore sparkling sequin and chiffon blush gowns.

STEFANIE
Our gorgeous Stefanie was an absolute dream to dress. She was married at one of our favourite venues in the county, Rivervale Barn and wore her stunning dress GABI in shades of vintage rose and ivory. She had a glamorous makeup look to compliment the autumnal season and had a stunning updo to show off the back of her floral dress. The pinks and ivory in her dress were perfect for the time of year and were captured perfectly by one of our favourite photographers! The delicate floral applique across the chest and subtle cap sleeves are the perfect balance to the ultra feminine and full tuille skirt. Stefanie finished her look with our cathedral length sparkling floral veil in blush pink to compliment the beautiful warmth in her dress.

AMBER
Beautiful Amber came to us with 8 weeks before her wedding. She had unfortunately not been given the right guidance through her wedding dress journey at another boutique and ended up purchasing a dress that had no structure or support. With only 8 weeks to go until her glorious wedding at Loseley Park, we were ready for the challenge and sprang in to action to help this utter babe! Fortunately, Amber came for a visit and she bought the softest and most romantic dropped waist gown for her summer wedding. A long and structured bodice, with soft bohemian lace straps and v-back were the perfect combination for Amber’s tall and stunning statuesque figure. The buttery soft tuille skirt with a long train was the perfect whimsical addition to the bodice and added an element of romanticism to her final look. Amber wore her stunning red hair down with an incredible tiara and our long ivory veil to compliment. She held a clutch of ivory roses and eucalyptus for a timeless yet modern look and added in a splash of pampas grass for texture and height!

AMY
Amy was on the hunt for something a little different for her London wedding. She was planning a magnificent ceremony in Southwark cathedral followed by a totally fun and modern reception at a local restaurant that they took over for the evening! Think Tower Bridge, London buses, minimal yet brightly coloured decor and a glamorous yet vintage look. Amy chose dream dress EDEN in shades of stormy grey and champagne and complimented her look with a clutch of stunning cream and rose dried flowers. Her tribe of bridesmaids wore a vintage rose colour to compliment and her dress was exquisite on her incredible curves! She finished her look with pearl jewellery and our cathedral length pearl veil in champagen to compliment her dress! The flutter sleeves on her dress emphasised her fabulous waist and she chose a half up half down hair style for movement and relaxed glamour. Her feet were just as fabulously dresses as the rest of her with an insane pair of Jimmy Choo trainers that sparkled the day and night away!

HANNAH
Beautiful Hannah is an actual real life fairytale princess. Hair golden like the sun, skin as white as snow and she chose the most beautiful blush and ivory gown for her big day at the gorgeous Brookfield Barn in West Sussex. Hannah was keen to incorporate lots of blush tones throughout her wedding and set these off with a contemporary pop of orange throughout the day. Her bridesmaids were bold and striking next to her soft and romantic gown HARROGATE. The ivory lace created to look like creeping vines suited the glorious venue perfectly and Hannah complimented this look with our cathedral length floral veil in a soft tone of blush pink. Pretty and pink makeup was the ideal choice for this fair skinned beauty and her hair was gently tousled and pushed back away from her face in a romantic half up half down style.
JESSIE
Beautiful Jessie came to visit, looking for a romantic dress that showed her curves but was easy to wear and would fit with her barn wedding at local venue Burford Bridge. She fell in love with the fabulous DELMAR; fitted underneath to show her gorgeous silhouette with a loose floral lace overskirt that sparkled through the day and night. The strapless and sweetheart neckline was perfect for Jessie’s petite frame and the corseted back gave additional structure and support throughout the night. The lace was sparkling and ultra glamorous which was the perfect style for her wedding. The train on Jessie’s gown was exclusively tuille and lace, making for a real statement and her blush pink and navy blue colour scheme was the perfect compliment to her crisp ivory gown. Jessie chose an updo to show off the neckline of her dress and her best friend Joey (the family poodle) wore a smart navy blue waistcoat to remain in-keeping with the attire! Jessie finished her look with our chapel length long ivory veil and sparkling floral hair comb complete with ivory flowers to match her dress.

KATY
Katy was our boho dream come true! Set on showing off her gorgeous curves and looking for a modern dress with a fabulous print, she fell in love with dream dress EMMA. A mocha coloured boho wedding dress in a mermaid cut, covered in the most stunning ivory lace. Katy married her now husband Lawrence at the superb Cissbury Barns in West Sussex, a real festival style wedding venue in the heart of the county. Katy and Lawrence had their ceremony and reception at this gorgeous barn venue and Katy complimented her final look with a beautifully warm makeup look and our cathedral length veil in a soft shade of mink, to bring out the colour in her dress. Katy opted for a relaxed and tousled half up half down hair style to remain in-keeping with the romantic style of their celebration. These beautiful photographs really show off a day filled with fun and love. Katy’s gorgeous hourglass figure looked incredible in this fitted style of wedding dress and the layers of lace and tuille in the skirt gave the perfect dreamy finish to a wonderfully bohemian look.
