Barn venues in Surrey & Sussex are some of the most beautiful in the country. Whether they are purpose built for barn weddings and events or whether they are renovated old dairy’s or farm buildings, who doesn’t love a barn wedding venue?! They’re filled with character and charm, they make stunning backdrops and play effortlessly into the bohemian vibe that has taken the wedding world by storm!
As a Surrey based bridal boutique on the borders of West Sussex, we are lucky enough to have a fair share of barn venues right on our doorstep. We are recommended at many of them and they all have their own unique and playful take on ‘barn wedding’. Whether you want a barn dance and hoe-down or a glamorous evening of canapes and drinks - there really is something for everyone!

GATE STREET BARN
Certainly one of the counties most popular wedding venues, Gate Street Barn is a truly stunning place for a wedding. It truly has everything, rustic charm with a really polished finish. Cosy yet dramatic, stunning yet homely, quirky yet stylish. As a dry hire barn venue in Surrey, you really get to sculpt your ideal celebration and can choose from a variety of preferred caterers. Gate Street also has a long list of suppliers that they recommend to their clients (us included hehe). My choice of dress for Gate Street Barn would be MARGO. An intricate long sleeve lace wedding dress with a stunning high waist and chiffon skirt. Not a fan of the sleeves? No worries! This dress can be ordered with or without them!

GILDINGS BARN
Oozing charm from every carefully curated beam, Gildings Barn is undeniably one of Surrey’s most rustic, earthy and beautiful barn venues. Built in the 1990’s in an historic fashion by the current owners father, who studied the archaic techniques of building traditional barns (nailed it) this barn has everything you could want for a rural and relaxed celebration. Nooks, crannies, props and a fantastic selection of local suppliers offering a great variety of services. I would recommend our gorgeous gown TAIR - she’s pretty, feminine and has a laid back charm. She comes with optional balloon sleeves and is made from a delicious Swiss polka dot tuille.

BURFORD BRIDGE
A striking old barn with an adjoining modern hotel - how perfect is that? Nestled at the base of the famous Box Hill, Burford Bridge offers historic beauty and charm -dine under original beams taken from the Spanish Armada in the 11th century and in the same suites as famous literary heavy weights such as Lord Byron! Truly a piece of history in our very own beautiful countryside. My chosen dress to match this gorgeous venue is GABI - a beautiful blush pink dress with delicate florals!

LOSELEY PARK
Loseley House is situated in 1,400 acres of glorious rolling countryside, just 3 miles south of Guildford in Surrey. You will approach the House along a mile long winding driveway passing beautiful parkland. The view then opens up to the truly magnificent Elizabethan Mansion surrounded by well-kept lawns. It’s truly magnificent!
Steeped in a history stretching back over more than 500 years, privately owned Loseley Park is tailor-made to make your day special. Loseley House offers the panelled Great Hall, a magnificent backdrop for civil ceremonies and the elegant Drawing Room. Receptions are held in the 17th Century Tithe Barn which is also licensed for ceremonies.
My chosen dress for this stunning venue would definitely be TAMIA (in any colour way!) Tamia is sassy and glamorous but also super playful and would lend itself to this stylish backdrop perfectly!

RIVERVALE BARN
When modern and stylish meets barn = Rivervale! This purpose built, astonishingly beautiful venue on the borders of Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire is a hard act to follow! Light, airy, pretty and all inclusive, you really can’t fault this enchanting venue. With a gorgeous bridal suite, stunning ceremony room, fountain, space for an outdoor ceremony and a suite to get ready in, what does this wedding venue not have?! My choice of wedding dress to go with this glorious venue would be LANA. She’s fitted and floral, glamorous yet pretty and perfect for such a special venue

THE BARN AT BOTLEY HILL
It’s rustic yet contemporary, built from traditional black timber, crafted inside from reclaimed wood and features exposed steel beams. Stunning floor to ceiling windows made from glass and steel allow guests to take in the breathtaking Surrey Hills views and spectacular sunsets, which are among the very best in Surrey. They can also be enjoyed from the landscaped gardens and terrace. This amazing venue was the most exciting development to hit the bridal industry in the South East for years and opened its beautiful doors in 2019! My choice of dress for The Barn at Botley Hill would be SEAN. It’s detailed and stylish with sass and movement!

WEST SUSSEX
CISSBURY BARNS
Set high on the South Downs and completely shielded by woodland you will find the stunning Cissbury Barns. For over two hundred years they have been at the heart of our sheep farming in Sussex and they are now transformed into a unique and stylish wedding and events venue. There are two large barns, one fronted by a glam walled garden and the other by a beautiful patio with outdoor bar area. For a fun and trendy festival style couple, there is no venue better in the South East! My choice for this gorgeous barn venue would be ALENA - it’s floaty and playful, chic and totally perfect for an outdoor style celebration!

UPWALTHAM BARNS
These traditional Sussex flint long barns are perfect for a relaxed country wedding and are set in the South Downs National Park next to the historic Goodwood Estate and are just half an hour from the coast. Lovingly restored, Upwaltham Barns is family-owned and exudes a warmth and friendliness that has made it one of the most popular wedding barn venues in West Sussex. My chosen dress to match these magnificent barns would be PETRA - a glamourous yet bohemian style dropped waist gown with delicate tuille skirt and pretty sparkling lace bodice.

GRITTENHAM BARN
Grittenham Barn is a traditional stone Sussex barn with breathtaking views over the South Downs. It has been immaculately restored and features a stunning central fireplace. Grittenham is set in the heart of the West Sussex countryside between Petworth and Midhurst. The site predates the 17th Century and is mentioned in the Domesday Book. The barn, farmhouse and outbuildings are Grade II listed and this beautiful property is set in stunning gardens with a lake, orchard and woodland. The barn seats 120 people comfortably or 250 standing. My choice for this gorgeous venue would definitely be the magnificent CAROLINE - a peplum effect bohemian style chiffon dress that is cute and sexy with a splash of glam.
SOUTHEND BARNS
Southend Barns is absolutely breathtaking from start to exquisite finish. Use their restored dairy barn for a beyond stunning ceremony, or say your nuptials al fresco and saunter down their incredible 50ft aisle overlooking the alpaca fields! The clean and crisp modern interior of the ceremony barn is so refreshing and unique!
The stunning 200-year-old Threshing Barn with contemporary polished concrete floor and original wooden beams provides a beautiful setting for evening receptions. The space is completely flexible, allowing you to choose from many different layouts for your wedding breakfast. My choice for this West Sussex barn would definitely be all-sparkling SAAR - this glistening ballgown would look so special in the crisp white ceremony barn!

SOUTHLAND BARNS
Set in 120 acres of farmland overlooking the South Downs National Park, this magnificent 17th century barn is ALL about the impact. It is truly magnificent and makes for a fantastic clash of old world meets new modern and chic style. Festival couples, bohemian couples, outdoorsy couples, make sure this gorgeous venue is firmly on your list to visit! I kind of love the idea of a really classic gown with clean lines to compliment the history of the venue but also to allow you to go a little extra with the flowers and accessories! I would recommend ANASTASIA and a bunch of wild flowers!
